The Shorthorn and Student Publications are hosting a trainer from Google and the Society of Professional Journalists on campus next Wednesday, Feb. 27. The trainer, Sandra Gonzalez, will present a two-part workshop focusing on how to use Google tools like maps, trends, surveys, scholarly research, public data and more to enhance the work you do as a professional communicator. Because of the nature of our work as journalists, commercial photographers/videographers, graphic designers, sales reps, office assistants, and professionals, the training will be of great assistance as either a refresher or a way to gain new skills (and a leg up on the competition). This training is required for staff and will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, in 100 Nedderman Hall. Please come prepared to take lots of notes, ask lots of questions, and leave more prepared to do great work in Student Publications and beyond. PLEASE NOTE: This is not for journalists. This has great info for all of us.
