A student received a citation after being hit by a car while riding her bike, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said.

The accident happened at 8 p.m. at the intersection of UTA Boulevard and Nedderman Drive. The female student, 33, was crossing UTA Boulevard while another female student, 39, was already in the process of turning eastbound onto UTA Boulevard. The cyclist was struck from the left side by the motorist and fell off of her bike. Emergency medical technicians arrived, but the cyclist received no injury and was able to ride away.

The cyclist received a citation because she entered the crosswalk as the vehicle was already in motion. Doing so is a violation of Texas law title 7 section 552.003 (b).
