A male student was arrested in connection with possession of marijuana less than two ounces after a random health and safety check Wednesday at Centennial Court apartments, said Mike McCord, UTA Police acting assistant chief.
Apartment staff reported that they found a green leafy substance, McCord said.
The student and resident of the apartment entered as police were investigating, McCord said. Through investigation, it was determined that the student was in possession of marijuana, he said.
The charge is a Class B misdemeanor, according to the Texas Penal Code. A Class B misdemeanor is punishable by a fine no more than $2,000, jail time for no more than 180 or both a fine and jail time, according to the code.
