Less than one gram of cocaine was turned in to UTA Police by a male student March 10, said Mike McCord, UTA Police acting assistant chief.

The student found the narcotic in the Engineering Laboratory Building and brought it to the Police Substation in the College Park District, McCord said. The student will not be charged with a crime, he said.

Drugs seized by UTA Police are kept an evidence room until disposal, McCord said. The police plan to dispose of the narcotic according to their normal procedures for destruction, he said.
