One student and two nonstudents were arrested after smoking marijuana Friday night in the College Park Garage North, said UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord.

After the police substation in the College Park Center received a report of suspicious activity on the third floor of the north garage, officers investigated, McCord said.

Upon arrival, officers smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from a group of people hanging around a black Ford Mustang and a silver Ford Fusion, McCord said. Through investigation, officers discovered there were seven people, 2 female students and 5 male nonstudents, who were smoking marijuana both inside the vehicles and outside in the garage.

One of the female students, 18, was arrested in connection with possession of marijuana, McCord said. Two of the male nonstudents, 18 and 19, were arrested in connection with the same charge.

All three people were in possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, McCord said.
