The State Fair of Texas has returned for another year of Texas-sized entertainment. Since its beginning in 1886, the annual event has offered a variety of family fun: concerts, live shows, carnival rides and award-winning food.
This year, the fair will run from Sept. 27 to Oct. 20.
Last year, over two million people visited Fair Park during the 24-day event.
The 212-foot-tall Texas Star ferris wheel sits in the State Fair Midway and offers panoramic views of Dallas and the Metroplex.
Midway is also home to over 70 rides and carnival games.
The annual AT&T Red River Showdown between the UT-Austin and University of Oklahoma’s football teams will be at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, a state fair staple, this Saturday.
