When the sun comes out and the air warms up, people start looking for the best ways to cool down and relax.

With temperatures near 70 degrees Fahrenheit, the Sigma Chi fraternity cashed in on the weather and started selling snow cones on the Central Library mall. The fraternity brothers are selling the snow cones as part of a general fundraiser.

“We made $50 in just an hour,” said organizational communications junior Khalill Jadael.

Biology freshman Hamza Memon was able to provide the Sigma Chi brothers with a snow cone machine because his family owns a snow cone stand, he said.

"We’ve been in the business for a few years,” he said. “We’re snow cone artists.”

Jadael said that the Sigma Chi fraternity hopes to put on the fundraiser weekly this semester.
