The women’s tennis team fell to the University of North Texas 4-2 in its final regular-season match Saturday at the UTA Tennis Center.

North Texas defeated UTA in all doubles competitions. Mean Green freshmen Ivana Babic and Alexandra Heczey edged the No. 78-ranked doubles pair, senior Astrid Gehre and freshman Anna Wichert, to clinch a point for North Texas.

In singles competition, Wichert and junior Agustina Serio topped their opponents to earn two points for UTA. The Mean Green went on to win the match after claiming three singles matches. 

UTA will travel to New Orleans for the Sun Belt Championship on Friday at the City Park Tennis Courts.
