The volleyball team (16-11, 8-7) will play its final match of the Sun Belt Conference regular season against Texas State University at 6:30 p.m. Friday in San Marcos, Texas.
The Mavericks booked their place in the Sun Belt Volleyball Championship tournament last weekend, and this final game will help determine their final seeding for the championships.
A win against Texas State would be an accomplishment, since the Bobcats, at 13-2, currently have the best record in the conference.
Texas State has earned at least a share of the regular conference crown, and a win would see the Bobcats win the Sun Belt title outright.
A win coupled with other positive results could see UTA secure a top-five seed in the tournament. A loss would see the team finish no higher than third in the West Division, earning a bottom-three seed.
