The men’s tennis team picked up another pair of home wins over the weekend to stay undefeated at the UTA Tennis Center.

UTA swept Incarnate Word in a 4-0 win Friday and defeated New Mexico State 4-1 Sunday.

Against Incarnate Word, the Mavericks won all three doubles matches and senior Daniel Armengol, sophomore Mauricio Del Rio and freshman Marcos Sanz each won their singles matches to clinch the win for UTA.

UTA again swept the doubles matches against New Mexico State, but Sanz dropped his singles match to give the Aggies a point.

Del Rio and sophomore Guanarteme Nuez won their singles matches to put the Mavericks one point away from the win. Senior Jhonathan Gonzalez won his singles match 6-3, 7-5 to clinch the win for UTA.

The Mavericks return to the court 11 a.m. Thursday to face Texas A&M University Corpus Christi at the UTA Tennis Center, the fifth of their nine-match home stand.
