Men's golf places 15th at Valspar Collegiate Championships

Among many nationally ranked teams, the men’s golf team closed out the Valspar Collegiate Championships on Tuesday at Floridian National Golf Club with a 15th place finish.

The Mavericks posted scores of 302-292-304 for an overall score of 31-over-par 883.

Junior Tanner Gore led the Mavericks on the leaderboard as he placed 57th at 10-over-par 223.

Senior Aaron Guanlao followed one stroke behind Gore in a tie for 58th at 11-over.

Graduate student Nick Thornton tied for 69th at 14-over, while freshman Paul Gonzalez finished tied for 72nd at 15-over.

Senior Jake Greenspoon rounded out the Mavericks tied for 80th at 19-over.

Next up, the team returns to the course April 2-3 to compete at the Bubba Barnett Collegiate at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
