This is a wrapup of crime for Thursday.

Theft

Three bicycle thefts were reported Sept. 12, according to the UTA crime log.

At around 9 a.m. a female student reported her bicycle was stolen at Kalpana Chawla Hall. The bicycle was valued at $179.

At around 11 a.m. a male student reported his bicycle was stolen also at Kalpana Chawla Hall. The bicycle was valued at $174.

At around 2 p.m. a male student reported his bicycle was stolen at Timber Brook apartments. The bicycle was valued at $98.

Cases for the thefts remain active, according to the crime log.

Theft between $100 and $750 is a class B misdemeanor, according to the Texas Penal Code. A class B misdemeanor is punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, a jail term not to exceed 180 days or both.
