Campus Recreation will take students on a hiking trip at Cedar Hill State Park on Sunday as part of their Adventure Trips program.

Chris Muller, Campus Recreation associate director, said that up to 17 students can sign up to attend, with 11 already registered as of Thursday. Registration costs $20 and covers transportation to and from campus as well as the state park entrance fee, water and snacks, he said.

Students registered to attend the hiking trip will check in at the Maverick Activities Center at 12:15 p.m., with the hike lasting from 1:30-5 p.m., according to a Campus Recreation flyer.

Previous hiking experience is not necessary, Muller said. He hopes students on the trip get to appreciate a natural environment that’s close to campus while meeting new friends.

“This would be a great opportunity for students to have a study break as well as kind of recharge their batteries in a natural environment,” Muller said.
