Best Bets: Bed Races, Palin and Biden debate, and the Prairie View-Grambling game PDF Print E-mail

There's not too much going on this weekend that's a must. Thankfully there's Bed Races tonight and a heck of a lot of new movies coming out.

Get a taste of the university's Bed Races tradition with our video from last year's event above. And if you stay home to get caught up with classes, be sure to at least watch "Saturday Night Live"since they're sure to have the best recap of the Vice Presidential Debates.

After the jump, your complete list of best bets ...

TODAY
The university’s 28th annual Bed Races take place at 7:30 tonight at Maverick Stadium. Besides the beds on wheels, a gigantic pillow fight and other games and freebies, it’s a must-attend event solely for being at Maverick Stadium. How often are you ever out there?

If it’s not your style, the Vice Presidential Debates will be on every television news channel starting at 8 p.m., and while Gov. Sarah Palin surely knows the Bush doctrine by now, it’s sure to be hilarious in some way.

SATURDAY

The State Fair Classic pits Texas’ own Prairie View A&M University against Louisiana’s Grambling University at the famous Cotton Bowl.

But the football game is usually just a get-together for family, friends and alumni. There’s the exciting battle of the bands, but Grambling has almost always trampled on Prairie View.

PV hasn’t beat Grambling since 1986, but now the Panthers are undefeated, and last year’s loss to Grambling was close, 17-14.

Whatever happens, there should be a good show on the field.

Tickets $25, kickoff at 6 p.m. at Dallas’ Fair Park.
