Homecoming men’s basketball game sells out

Tickets for the Homecoming men’s basketball game Jan. 11 are sold out.

Julian Russell, a philosophy and political science sophomore, said the grand opening of the College Park Center Wednesday, where both the women’s and men’s basketball teams won, may have had something to do with the tickets going fast.

How to return tickets

Students can call the box office to return tickets at 817-272-9595.
Each ticket has a number that students can read off to be entered back into the ticket system.

“I saw Facebook statuses that said, ‘Proud to be a Maverick,’ ” Russell said. “I’ve never seen that before and when I saw it, I thought, ‘Wow, that’s a lot of school spirit around here.”

Russell hasn’t claimed his ticket for the Homecoming game but said he hopes to get a ticket by default because he might be working events for the game that day.

The university is asking students who have tickets but have had a change in plans to return the tickets to the UTA box office so others can claim them.
