Starting Sept. 1, the UT System will ask employees, who are part of the UT SELECT Medical Plan and use tobacco, to pay a $30 monthly fee for tobacco use.
Allan Saxe to receive award for $50,000 donation to George W. Hawkes Central Library

Allan Saxe, political science associate professor, was named the Texas Library Association’s Benefactor Award recipient in April.
Saxe will receive the reward for donating $50,000 to the Technology Training Center and administration boardroom at the George W. Hawkes Central Library in 2011.
Board of Regents approves 2013-14 tuition increase

Confusion arose last week over whether UTA administrators snubbed student leaders when deciding to propose a tuition increase for the 2013-2014 academic year as the UT System Board of Regents voted to authorize the increase.
The UT System Board of Regents approved UTA’s tuition proposal for the 2012-2014 academic years. UTA is the only UT System institution to not propose a tuition increase for the 2012-2013 academic year.
