Norah Jones is known for her soft approach to music — which has been working. Her listless, jazzy croon has earned the singer-songwriter an assortment of awards, including 12 Grammy wins, five of which came from her debut album, Come Away with Me.
The artist slowly began to unveil herself from the once piano-led persona and on her 2010 album, The Fall, listeners got a glimpse of a darker Jones.
The Darlings take the wrong escape with ‘The New Escape’ [Soundbyte]

Los Angeles rockers The Darlings are bringing a breath of fresh air back to the music scene with a recycled blend of late ‘70s punk-rock. While there are definitely songs that could have been left on the cutting room floor, the band still manages to pay homage to gems such as the Ramones and The Clash with a twist of country rock, classic rock and rock ‘n’ roll.
What the band does right is touch heavily on political topics. That “fight the man” outlook is what punk-rock was built upon. The lyrics aren’t afraid, especially in the song “American Dream.” The song hits hard at Americans with lyrics such as, “hold on to your ignorance, it suits you well,” and, “traders and alibis, I can’t seem to tell who’s who.”

When long-standing bands such as Our Lady Peace release a new album, it is always interesting to see what will be offered. For its eighth studio album, the band uncovered the theme of boxing.
The theme represents the band’s fight to stay relevant in an ever changing music industry and make music that they enjoy making.
