Students registering for classes on MyMav can save time buying books by ordering them online. The new service will instantly connect students with the campus bookstore’s inventory so they instantly know what books are available. The system offers used books by default to save students money. Assistant manger Valeta Gart said students wanting new books can purchase those instead. “The university is always looking for ways to save students more money, and we thought this might help,” she said. “But they are more than welcome to get the new books we have in stock.” Gart said students wanting to use this service should be prepared to pay for the books online separately because the bill cannot be added to their student accounts. While all online returns would be on the same seven-day return policy as other purchases, the store manager must approve all mail-in returns, Gart said. “Students will need to bring in their receipt and make sure that new books don’t have any writing or highlighting in them,” she said. “They will have until September 2.” The service has been available to all registering students since MyMav started using the PeopleSoft Enterprise system.
