Student leadership award nominations due Monday
The deadline for faculty to nominate students for an Outstanding Student Leaders Award is Monday.
Sponsored by the UTA Leadership Recognition Program, the program offers a $750 award and three $500 awards which will be given at a reception.
The awards include the Emerging Leader Award, the Student Leadership Award and the Matthew E. Brown Leadership Award.
Students are judged by a selection committee based on leadership contributions made for the university in the past year.
Committee members will also make selections based on the amount of time a student worked as a leader and the results of the work.
To be eligible for a nomination a student must be involved in at least two organizations and have a 2.25 grade point average.
The reception will be 7 p.m. April 20 in the Bluebonnet Ballroom of the University Center as part of the annual UTA Leadership Recognition Ceremony. Other awards that will be given include the
Outstanding Organizational Advisor Award and Outstanding Student Organization Awards .
Forms are online at www.uta.edu/stuact/leadership and must be submitted to Student Activites Director Mardie Sorensen at the Department of Student Activities in the UC.
