The Alumni Association has revamped one of its organizations to include more student perks, said Jasmine Stewart, alumni and student programs assistant director. The updated Student Alumni Association is now open to all students, she said. Previously, interested students were required to submit an application, go through an interview process and be voted into the organization by current members. Now, anyone can join the organization by completing an application and paying a $15 fee. Students will receive an alumni T-shirt, cup, membership card, a 10 percent off textbook coupon for the UTA Bookstore and a Chipotle coupon. “Students who sign up have no obligations and are not required to attend meetings,” Stewart said. “It is completely perk based.” To join, students can sign up online at www.uta.edu/alumni/saa/saa_membership.php or visit the student organization’s table from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, July 8 and 22, and every Friday in July beginning July 11, at the Central Library. For information, contact the association at 817-272-2594. Views: 252 | E-mail
