Professor discusses metal, glass art in series lecture
David Keens, art and art history associate professor, will present “A Survey of Creative Work, from Metal to Glass” from 12:10 to 1 p.m. today in the Central Library Sixth Floor Parlor.
Keens said he will be discussing his body of work, which began with metal and later shifted into glass art. His work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries throughout the United States, including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute, Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. and the Dallas Museum of Art.
“When artists talk about their work, it’s a process of putting up the images and discussing the evolution of ideas into art and the evolution of the art itself,” Keens said.
The lecture is the second in the “Focus on Faculty” Lecture Series this semester. The lecture is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception.
