Event proceeds go to Israel, Lebanon bombing victims
BLACKleaderFILMS, a film company started by university alumni Chris Simpson, Saishta Selvarajan and Johnny Rutledge, will host a charity event, “Sound + Picture Installment 02: Film is Love,” at 9 tonight at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas.
The alumni hand-picked six filmmakers to create abstract music videos for Theater Fire, a Fort Worth band playing that night, Simpson said.
The 16 short films, produced by the filmmakers, will play on a projector simultaneously with the 16 tracks from Theater Fire’s new album, Everybody Has A Dark Side. The films are designed to compliment each song.
“We chose Theater Fire because we knew the drummer, Nick Prendergast, who is an alumnus,” Simpson said.
All proceeds go to the families and victims of the Israel-Lebanon bombing.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Donations will be accepted.
