This part of the year has a feeling of finality for students, and it’s not just because you’ve been studying and cramming for finals. Students have been conditioned all their lives to feel as though this part of the year means the end of the year, and it’s time to play.

With the academic year behind us, the summer looms large. There are so many options on how to spend your summer — travel, work, lazy days or taking more classes.

Classes are probably the last thing students want to think about right after the end of a semester, but they are a great idea if you aren’t traveling and have some time on your hands.

Four summer sessions are available: an intersession between the spring and summer semester, an 11-week session and two 5-week sessions offered in early and late summer.

Regular registration continues through May 17 for the intersession, and the first five-week session and the 11-week session continues until June 2 and ends July 7 for the second five-week session.

So if you have the time and motivation, summer classes are a great way to get through a class in less time.

Editorial Roundup

The Issue: Summer is here and decisions need to be made about what to do over the break.

We Suggest: If you aren’t traveling anywhere or spending the summer with family — consider taking some courses over the break to get closer to graduation.
