As the single-season leader in three-pointers made, Rogér Guignard will not be back in a Mavericks uniform next season. Junior guard Roge’r Guignard has come to a mutual agreement to leave the Mavericks’ basketball program. Guignard played 28 games this past season scoring an average of 12.6 points per game. (The Shorthorn: Andrew Buckley) From a number of team sources, Guignard missed a class the day of when the team was to head to Katy, Texas for the tournament and it had been an issue all season long. Head coach Scott Cross said that Guignard's departure from the team was "a mutual agreement" between he and the player. Cross could not comment any further on the situation. Guignard's depature comes after the junior averaged 12.6 points a game last year and made 71 three-pointers in 28 games. For his career, he aveaged 12.1 points a game and 80.3 made threes a game. Guignard's made 99 three-pointers in 2007-08 set a single-season record. Views: 1460 | E-mail
