In a 79-76 loss at No. 21/24 Baylor on Saturday, Vereen scored 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including 1-of-3 from three-point range. The senior from Houston, Texas, also made all five free throws and grabbed seven rebounds while dishing two assists and recording one steal. UTA led most of the game and did not surrender the lead until the final 1:07 in the game. Vereen has set or tied his career high in two of his last three games though the Mavericks have lost their last four games to fall 4-5 this season.

White averaged 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in a pair of road wins last week at Grambling State and at Houston Baptist. The sophomore from New Orleans, La., scored 18 points, firing on 8-of-9 accuracy against the Tigers. In just 17 minutes, he grabbed two rebounds and recorded a pair of steals. In Houston, White scored 12 points making 5-of-11 shots from the floor and grabbed seven boards. He blocked five shots, had two steals and an assist as the Demons improved to 7-4 on the year.
