Taylor Swift is doing OK, gosh darn it.
After the 18-year-old country singer broke out with songs like “Teardrops on My Guitar” and “Our Song,” which were played on both country and pop radio, she released her new album, Fearless, this month, and it appears headed to the top of the Billboard charts.
Swift writes all her own music, like her new single, “Love Story,” controls her own MySpace profile and most recently dated Joe Jonas of the über-popular Jonas Brothers band.
Staffers Rueben Gonzales and Anthony Williams talk about Swift, her career and her Jonas problems.
Williams: Taylor Swift.
Gonzales: Swift like a fox.
Williams: I heard her “Teardrops on My Guitar” a while back and liked it before I knew who it was.
Gonzales: Yeah that is a good track, great even, which is why I was surprised to hear the songs on Fearless. They are a bit more amateur.
Williams: Really? I mean, she is just 18 and it’s her sophomore album.
Gonzales: Yeah so was Christina Aguilera. I’m just saying it sounded like a struggle ... vocally.
