'Idol' Notes: A mutual separation for Castro, America PDF Print E-mail

Rockwall's Jason Castro is headed back home, though unlike the other "American Idol" finalists, he won't be returning to the "Idol" stage.
After a string of poor performances, Castro was finally shown the door Wednesday. After Tuesday, when he looked more animated and ready to go home, Simon told him to pack his bags.
I've said before that Castro looked like he didn't want to be there, and Entertainment Weekly proved it. So suffice it to say, everyone wins with him gone.
A quick run-through of everything else "Idol" this week, and what to expect out of the rest of this season... after the break.

'Idol' Notes: Castro should go, but will he? PDF Print E-mail

OK, I didn't blog last night, but I'm doing it tonight. I did want to post before the results show and say who I think should go and who might be going. Of course, Jason Castro should be leaving after forgetting the words to "Mr. Tambourine Man," but he's likely to survive thanks to rabid fans. If it's not him that leaves, I suspect it'll be Syesha Mercado, who had a breakthrough night. If it was a really big shocker, it'd be one of the Davids, who I believe are likely locks for the final two. It's never a good thing to be a "lock." And because I didn't really bank on one to leave, I'd bet on Syesha - that's the likeliest small upset. But let's find out.
